MEDACTION:
Policies for land use to combat desertification

MEDACTION is a multi-disciplinary research project aiming to:

  • assess the main issues underlying the causes and effects of land degradation
  • develop integrated policy options and mitigation strategies to combat desertification in the Northern Mediterranean region.

MEDACTION will last three years (January 2001 until January 2004) and involves 13 partners from 6 European countries: Greece, Italy, Portugal, Spain, United Kingdom and the Netherlands.
